Environmental science essays at universities are assessed on the quality of scientific evidence used, the critical engagement with policy and governance dimensions, and the clarity of argument. Descriptive essays that list the effects of climate change without analysing mechanisms, evaluating interventions, or engaging with competing interpretations will not achieve high marks.
